THE RECIPE FOR THE DELICIOUS PUMPKIN PIE
Pumpkin is a fruit that add-on happiness to our Thanksgiving day. It is the flavoursome fruit that always gives me immense pleasure while having it. I am glad that Nupur Verma has shared her secret recipe of the delicious pumpkin pie that is sure to delight you with its spicy, sweet taste and fragrant ingredients. This dessert is a mixture of spicy crust and sweet flavours.
The pie is so soft and the crust gives you a crunchy taste.
Ingredients for your perfect Pumpkin Pie
1 cup pumpkin puree
½ cup condensed milk
1 tsp vanilla essence
2tsp corn flour
2tsp brown sugar
¼ tsp cinnamon Powder
¼ tsp nutmeg Powder
1/8 tsp ginger Powder
Butter to grease the pan
Ingredients for the Crust
250g maida
¼ tsp salt
125 butter, cold cut into cubes
10 tbsp cold water or add as required
Steps for preparing appetizing pumpkin pie
Crust
Mix the flour and add the salt
Add the butter and mix it into the flour – it will look like breadcrumb
Add water in parts to combine the dough.
Cling wrap & refrigerate for 15-20 mins.
Roll out the dough on a Silpat and line the pie tin.
Preheat the oven @ 180°C – 15 mins.
Grease a pie tin with butter.
Roll out the dough to 1 mm thickness.
Place it in the pie tin & trim the edges.
Place in the Refrigerator.
Filling
Mix the pumpkin puree, condensed milk, and spices.
Add the sugar, corn flour, and vanilla. Mix well.
Pour into the prepared pie tin.
Tap to remove the air bubbles.
Bake for 50 mins to 1 hour.
Check the centre with a toothpick to ensure it comes out clean.
Cool completely and your tasty pumpkin pie is ready to serve.
