Masque Restaurant in Mumbai turned 8 last evening we celebrated its birthday with a banger of a party.


The restaurant’s 10-course chef’s tasting menus - a first of its kind in India – marry tradition and innovation; as the seasons change, so do the menus, defined by ingredients sourced from local farmers, producers, and foraging trips.

The food at Masque stems from the team’s sustained efforts to give platform to local ingredients and extract maximum flavour from the wealth of Indian produce – a promise that’s been doubled down on with the addition of the new Masque Lab, the restaurant’s R&D and test kitchen that opened in 2020.

Masque’s modern Indian plates revisit traditional cooking and ingredients with purpose, exploring the ways these can build cross-cultural bridges. Paired with influences from across the world, each menu is the result of India’s distinct produce and culinary heritage, explored through the Masque lens.

Games, sandos, music, deliciousness, cocktails, great bonhomie and a whole lot of fun completed the evening!

Our fun curated @lovemacadamiaindia #cookoff at @naturesbasket at @phoenixpalladium where we learnt on the nut's cooking versatility and its health benefits!

We cooked up a storm and made 2 delicious dishes using @loveofmacadamia guided by the Chef - a smoothie bowl and stuffed mushrooms! Thank you all for making it!!

The versatility that Macadamia Nuts offer and can be used in everyday cooking and baking is varied. Sameer Malkani moderated an interesting panel at @bwwellbeingworld @businessworldbw last evening with culinary experts @kunalvijayakar @masterchefshiprakhanna @suvirsaran @saranshgoila and @the_sabrinas_kitchen

Our panel topic: Culinary & Tourism, A Gateway to Cultural Exploration: How mindful eating & travel practices, such as savoring flavors, honoring food origins and travelling, can cultivate a deeper connection to the experiences and promote overall wellness. From the impact on physical health to the nourishment of the soul, the transformative power of conscious consumption and intentional exploration is the highlight.

Perspectives on managing food waste, maintaining quality and consistency in the kitchen, using local and fresh produce, influencing through digital, conscious and mindful cooking and consumption, maintaining authenticity and originality, showcasing Indian cuisine globally, managing cultural differences and more were highlighted by the esteemed panel.
