MATHERAN IN A DAY

To protect the environment, the Ministry of Environment and Forest declared Matheran an eco-sensitive zone in 2003 and restricted all vehicles inside the hill station.

Routes to Matheran

Matheran is connected to Mumbai. If planning to go by road, you can take the vehicle to the entrance (Dasturi Naka- Aman lodge), then you have to take a horse ride, hand-rickshaw ride or walk up to the hill station. Our favourite way to reach the hill station: the Toy train from Neral station (very less availability). It’s the only toy train in Maharashtra and you can enjoy the view of ghat while traveling by the train. There is no doubt that the hill station always has scenic views but Monsoon is the season to capture beautiful memories with your loved ones.
