“World On a Plate” is India’s biggest and most anticipated International food festival. It features some of the most influential chefs in the culinary world and gives professional chefs an opportunity to compete and show their culinary talents to an audience and a diversified panel of international judges.
WOAP will host the city’s top restaurants , cocktail and patissiery bars who will battle it out for “WOAP RESTAURANT / COCKTAIL BAR / PATISSIER OF THE YEAR 2017”. Audiences are not just spoilt for choices with these restaurant pop-ups but also with Masterclasses (with their choice of chefs) , the much awaited tete-a-tete talk show and the live judging event – Masterchef LIVE!
World on a Plate had an illustrious line up of Chefs- Gary Mehigan, Adriano Zumbo, Janice Wong, Ranveer Brar and Elena Duggan at Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel.
The event started with exclusive Master Classes followed by tete-a-tete with the Chefs. We attended a fun Master Class with Chef Ranveer Brar who cooked Salmon in the Indian Summer. The class was exciting as he used unique techniques and unusual ingredients like aloe vera and also spoke about curing fish. Moreover he walked us through the art of plating your food to make it visually appealing. We got a taste of the dish and it was presented brilliantly, moreover, the chef was open to all questions after the class.
The next class was with the MasterChef Australia 2016 winner Elena Duggan. She spoke about her experience in the MasterChef kitchen and her healthy style of cooking. Her class was easy to follow and she made grilled snapper with a mango and quinoa salad. The dish was wholesome and full of fresh summer flavours, something we’d definitely want to try at home!
