Woodside Inn has set the bar high when it comes to using quality ingredients and innovative techniques to bring the best 10 burgers on the table. Not just that Woodside Inn has introduced two new brews which has been specially crafted for the festival in association with the Gateway Brewing Company. This month long festival has already begun from 20th July and will be on till the 27th of August, 2017.
We were down at the Lowe11r Parel outlet to try their specially curated burger menu paired with their hand crafted brews. Here are the few which we tried. We were served the mini burgers (sliders so that we could taste all of them).
First one from the list was Spud ‘N Quinoa Excess: Sweet Potato, Quinoa, Cottage Cheese, Gouda, Chipotle Mayo, and Pickled Green Bhavnagri Chili, Beetroot Bun, British Cole Slaw, Zatar Spiced Potato Wedges. This burger will make you fall in love with a Veg burger all over again. It was so juicy and upto some extent it even tasted like meat.
Shroom Feast: Parmesan Crusted Portobello Mushroom, Monterey Jack Cheese, Truffle Essence, Caramelized Onion, Beetroot Bun, Kale & Pomegranate, Sweet Potato Chips. This was heaven filled with cheese and so crispy, just what we need in our burgers.
Rooster Relish: Chicken Thigh marinated in buttermilk, red cabbage sauerkraut, chipotle mayo, Black sesame bun, British Cole Slaw, Cajun Fries.
Crab Carnival: Tempura fried Soft Shell Crab, Togarashi spice, Shriracha Mayo, Pickled Asian Veg. Charcoal Bun Red Cabbage Slaw, Prawns Crackers. This Crab burger is what we need in our life. With each bite you can feel the crunch and freshness of the ingredients.
Black Fowl: Teriyaki Chicken, Sauteed Pak Choi, Confit Cherry Tomato, Wasabi Mayo, Black sesame bun, Red Cabbage Slaw, Prawns Crackers.
Vegan Debauchery: Black Rice, Edamame Beans, Cilantro, Roasted Cashew Cheese, Herbed Focaccia Bun, Vegan Slaw, Cajun Fries.
The beer menu would consist of international beers and locally brewed craft beers. Woodside Inn once again collaborated with Gateway brewing Company for two separate yet complimentary beers i.e. Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. These two styles are different from each other in terms of their colour, textures and aroma. One is on the lighter side, refreshing and an easy to drink beer whereas the other one is a dark colored beer with good confluence of traditional Belgian pale ale and hops and extremely flavorful.
We paired our burger with Black Manga and Dr.Jekyl.
Black Mamba chocolate oat stout. The deeply caramel stout sits like chocolate ganache on your tongue, with layers of aftertaste – now raisins, now coffee with creamy texture. Makes it a perfect pairing of a beer with these burgers.
There is certainly nothing more enticing than the thought of a chilled beer and a freshly-flipped burger in this season. So come to the Woodside Inn and enjoy their 10th Year of the Burger and Beer festival with an extraordinary culinary trail.
